Career fair in Kanesatake

On Thursday the 30th of April, NOVA Career Centre participated in a career fair at Kanesatake, held at the Ratihente High School and organized by the Kanesatake Human Resources Office. Teachers (and few current students) from the Automobile Mechanics, Welding, Hairdressing, Secretarial Studies & Accounting, Interior Decorating and Visual Display and Homecare Assistance departments attended the fair and spoke to prospective students about their respective programs.

The Welding, Auto, and Hairdressing representatives brought props and simulators with them to show students what kind of hands-on learning takes place in their classrooms. In addition, the Interior Dec table featured many incredible examples of student work from previous years. Emilie Bowles, NOVA’s Resource Teacher for Aboriginal Students, was also in attendance to make students aware of the help available to them in the pursuit of their future studies. Hopefully we will be seeing a few familiar faces next semester in some of our programs!
