Health networking & volunteering

Networking for future job opportunities and giving back to the community all at the same time. That’s what a few of our Health, Assistance and Nursing students did during the inaugural – Health Promotion Fair held at the Brossard socio-cultural centre, put on by the Assistance Referral Centre (A.R.C.) – Health and Social Services. This bilingual event is intended to help inform the public of health and social services which are available in our area.

The fair was a huge success as Quebec Health Minister, Gaétan Barrette was on hand. And visitors were raving about the passionate speech on mental health done by special keynote speaker Ms. Margaret Trudeau.

Our students were a huge help in directing and answering visitors questions. They wore orange sashes in order to be visible to guests and act as health ambassadors for those attending the inaugural event.

*A.R.C. assists individuals by providing information on health and social services. It also helps communities develop their basic health knowledge for accessing services. Check out their website for more information.
