As part of Assistance in Health Care Facilities program, basic care (competence 9) the students have to learn how to shave a patient.

To practice their techniques we held a ‘Shaving Clinic’ in the Lab Thursday at lunchtime. We offered our male Carpentry and Landscaping students a free shave, a cup of coffee and homemade cookies. It was a great success!

A couple of Carpentry teachers were first in line and they encouraged their students to participate.

Before long the lab was full and the students had many faces to practice on.  It was a win/win activity. Carpentry and Landscaping students got a free shave, coffee and cookies. Our healthcare students got to practice shaving.

Students got to know each other and share some laughs.

Thanks to all who participated!
