It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at HAECC

It is the Jolly season here at the Huntingdon Adult Education & Community Centre (HAECC) where our staff, students, and community member have participated in different holiday festivities.

On December 5th Marie-Claire’s class (SIS – Social Integration Services class) and a few community members participated in the wreath-making workshop given by Horticulture teacher Denise Chavez. They learned to create something by hand with natural materials and were able to go back home with a unique decoration.

December 6th was the most exciting day because Santa Claus himself took time out of his busy schedule to call all the NFSB students including our SIS class and Melissa’s Sunshine Camp. Santa spoke to each student, wrote down everyone’s wishes and again this year, assured us that all of our students and staff members were on the nice list.

Students and staff joined together on December 11th for our annual Christmas lunch. Along with the traditional potpie and vegetable potage, three different desserts were made to please even the sweetest tooth.

The festivities will conclude with our bi-annual plant sale that will take place on the 14th of December, at HAECC, between 10 am and 4 pm. Organized by the Horticulture program, the plant sale will feature Poinsettia, Amaryllis, Cyclamen, Geranium and some Christmas Cactus.

A huge thank you goes out to all staff and students who make this time of the year even more magical by their care and involvement.
