Project Smile!

Over the course of the last few months, the staff of the HAECC Horticulture department has worked hard to care for the plants usually sold in their annual Plant Sale. Once it became clear that the sale would not happen due to current conditions, they immediately came up with a plan for how the plants should be used. To give back to those who have given so much of themselves during this unprecedented time, staff members from the NOVA Career Centre and HAECC helped Denise Chavez (Horticulture teacher) and her family to deliver over 200 plants, hanging baskets, and flowers to those who have never stopped working during this crisis, as our way of saying thank you for being there. Donations were made to the staff of IGA grocery stores in Huntingdon and Ormstown, as well as the Super C on Saturday (May 16). Flowers and plants were also delivered this morning (May 19) to the staff members of the CLSC Huntingdon, as well as the Centre d’hébergement du comté de Huntingdon.
