On December 9th, 2016, Laurier Macdonald Career Centre hosted a CEN (Centre of Expertise Network) workshop on the latest trends in the Hairdressing industry. Nova Career Centre, Gordon Robertson’s Beauty Academy and Laurier Macdonald’s hairdressers participated in three Professional Development activities, the choices were: SmartBond Systems (Melissa Tedeschi, L’ Oréal Professional) , Afro-centric Hair (Sonia Bailey and Stéphanie Tremblay, Department Head at NOVA) and Haute Coiffure (Stéphane Scotto Di Cesare, European freelancer and owner of Ecole Scotto Di Cesare; Vannes, France).
A wonderful and unique educational opportunity was had by all. Teachers shared their professional expertise as it created energy, inspiration and mind blowing experiences re-energizing their ideas and creativity for the classroom. At the end of the day, each participant was presented with professional certificates in their chosen workshop (our other CEN network, Rosemount Technology Centre, prepared our graphic certificates). Thank you to all who participated to make this CEN day a wonderful experience on all levels. The three participating school boards in the Hairdressing Industry, all agree how excited and looking forward they are about the next endeavour together.
