Institutional and Home Care Assistance

In less than a year you can be working in your new career working in a hospital, private or public nursing home or a long-term health care facility.

This program prepares you to provide care and assistance to people of all ages who are sick or who have physical, psychological, or psycho-social disabilities. Through in-class and field work in the healthcare sector, gain the skills you need to enable you to help your patients to maintain their autonomy or recover from an injury or health condition.

Prerequisites

  • A high school diploma, or
  • Be at least 16 years old and have Secondary 4  English, Math, and French, or
  • Be at least 16 years old and have Secondary 3 English, Math, and French. You will have to take classes at the same time as you study your trade to obtain Secondary 4 credits in English, Math, and French. Don’t worry – we can help with that path., or
  • Be at least 18 years old and pass the General Development Test
