Calling in the experts!

I have been a cabinet maker running my own business for over 16 years.  I have enjoyed the challenges and successes of working in the trade that I love.  I was recently invited to share my skills, knowledge and passion with a group of students at the Chateauguay Valley Career Education Centre in Ormstown.  I spent seven days with a group of 22 students working on student projects and assisting them in the use of shop tools and machinery. I discovered something new and exciting working with this group of enthusiastic students.  They are smart, interested in learning, and enjoy practicing the new skills they are developing.  The Centre is buzzing with various programs and activities.  It certainly didn’t look anything like school when I was a kid.  I rediscovered my own passion and excitement through the eyes of the next generation.  Thank you for reminding me of how fortunate I am to be able to practice a fun and rewarding trade.
