Welcome back to our CVCEC team from the mountains of the Dominican Republic. This year the team consisted of students and teachers from our Health Care programs and a Carpentry teacher. Everyone had an amazing experience volunteering at clinics, shadowing in hospitals, visiting a women’s shelter and a diabetic clinic and finally visiting construction and greenhouse sites in the area. The help and support our volunteer team does for the people of the Dominican Republic is quite remarkable and the wonderful experience has triggered a lot of personal reflection for those who took part. It was such a positive, growing and fulfilling experience for all. The pre-planning that is involved in a trip like this begins early in the school year and continues throughout the whole year to make the project a success. Congratulations to the team for building an amazing experience from start to finish. Welcome Home!
