Health Care Stages

Heading out on stage for the first time can be both nerve wracking and exciting for our students.  The students are always a bit anxious, but really look forward to working in the hospital and institution settings.

Our Health Care students in Ormstown are privileged to have the opportunity to practice their skills on stage at wonderful and caring establishments.  In the Chateauguay Valley the students work at the Centre Hebergement Huntingdon (Huntingdon Hospital), the Barrie Memorial Hospital and Centre D’Acceuil in Ormstown.    A little further down the road the students care for the patients in Chateauguay at the Anna Laberge Hospital, and the Kateri Memorial Hospital along with the Independent Living Centre in Kahnawake.  Students also enjoy working on stage in the Montreal area at the Lakeshore General Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital.

Our students have expressed great gratitude for their Montreal visits to observe the approach taken by Giant Steps School (autistic children), the McKay Centre School (visually impaired and hearing impaired children), Le Phare Enfants et Familles (pediatric palliative care) and the Montreal Children’s hospital.

There were rave reviews about their recent visit with the Sunshine Class (intellectually challenged adults) at the Huntingdon Adult Education Community Centre.

Our Health Care stages give the students the opportunity to observe infants, children, mothers and patients in a wide range of health care settings under the supervision and guidance of our skilled teachers.
