Doing their part

Howard S. Billings Regional High School celebrated their annual observance of Remembrance Day with activities such as a play, a special service and a luncheon for local Veterans. For this occasion, the HSB’s SWAT (Students Working Artistically Together) Drama team partnered with the NOVA Career Centre’s Hairdressing program.

The HSB student actors playing a wide variety of roles had their hair styled by the hairdressing students for the Remembrance Day play. Four performances of the play were offered over a two-day period and included an evening representation.

Ms. Gundry-White, the HSB SWAT team coordinator gushed, “Hairdressing did a marvellous job! We are so fortunate to have them so close, and we are so pleased that they are willing to partner with us. We are truly blessed to be part of such an amazing School Board with so many valuable resources and programs.”

Ms. Gundry-White was also pleased to see so many of her former students in the hairdressing program.

Another such partnership is planned for a SWAT Christmas presentation scheduled for  December 18th.
