We have launched a collaborative project with Écohabitation, Habitat for Humanity Montreal and the Municipality of Ormstown to build a LEED certified home.
As the Centre of Expertise for Sector 7 (Buildings and Public works), the Chateauguay Valley Career Education Centre (CVCEC) Carpentry department has undertaken the lead to organize a collaborative project to build a LEED certified home in the Municipality of Ormstown. The hope is to use the staff and students of area vocational centres, school board employees as well as local participants to volunteer their time and expertise in this project.
It will be the 1st project of this nature undertaken by a vocational school. All groups involved are very excited and look forward to the actual building of the home.
