Trailblazing in a Non-Traditional Trade

I have been doing the coordination of the Carpentry program for the past seven years. I have enjoyed working with a great team of teachers as well as dealing with the various suppliers, partners, CSST, CCQ, RBQ and many other construction associations.  Being female in a traditional male dominated industry has been an enjoyable learning experience.  The male perspective on things is often different than when viewing from a woman’s point of view.  We have shared, debated, and even cried a few times together.  I encourage men and women to step out of their comfort zone and consider a career in areas that have been typically held by people of the opposite sex.  You might just discover a new passion and a rewarding career.
