During the Scaffolding, lifting and handling module of the Carpentry program at the Chateauguay Valley Career Education Centre (CVCEC), students were split into groups and were given a project to develop and share with other students with the provided equipment available at the centre.
Using Ipads, groups had to do research on norms, codes, installation methods, safety, working around or on the scaffold, choices of knots for lifting different materials… In the end, they presented their projects and installations to the rest of the class.
A fun way of learning and making students accountable for their own safety and that of other workers.
