On Wednesday, April 11 – 45 students and staff went for lunch at l’Hermine sugar shack in Havelock. We enjoyed a horse-drawn wagon ride through the maple bush. We saw a 500-year-old maple tree! We had a guided tour of the shanty where the syrup is made and of the workshop where the syrup is canned and turned into delicious treats, such as: taffy, maple sugar and maple butter, just to name a few. We also visited the farm animals, which is always a favourite activity! We enjoyed a delicious sugar shack meal, topped off with some maple taffy! Everyone had a wonderful day!
