Bathtub-On-Wheels! What?

Everyone thinks they can become successful on their own, but we often need each other! Recently, CVCEC built a Bathtub-On-Wheels for the NOVA Career Centre Health Care Assistance program. And we would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone involved!

WHY: Our Assistance in Homecare and Health Care facility core courses require the students to be trained in the principles of safe patient-handling (Principe de Déplacement Sécuritaire des Bénéficiaires). For the last few years, our healthcare teachers have been requesting more hands-on training equipment.

HOW: The idea to get a rolling bathtub was generated by Teresa and Daniel, two PDSB teachers. The mobility would solve two problems: limited space and storage. Daniel designed a plan that was then submitted to Jean, our centre director.

MAKING THE CONNECTION: Jean made the connection by submitting the plan to the CVCEC Centre Director, Caroline, and her carpentry department.  The CVCEC carpentry department was the final piece of the puzzle.  You can read about the project here.

TRANSPORTATION: Teresa transported the bathtub from CVCEC to NOVA.

What an excellent display of teamwork, partnership, and creativity between CVCEC and the NOVA!

Once again, we would like to extend a special Thank You to CVCEC for giving us a hand and building our bathtub-on-wheels. We look forward to future collaborations and the opportunity to return the favour. We could have not done it without you!

Warmest regards,

NOVA Career Centre – Home Care Assistance program
