Carpentry Grad, LEED Crazy!

In the time that I have spent at CVCEC, I have learned that this school unlike any other I have ever attended will not settle at being average or simply good enough. CVCEC is not only the carpentry centre of expertise in the English sector, but they have also defined themselves as a centre willing to go above and beyond in their involvement with LEED building (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) supporting a superior standard of building. CVCEC is the first centre to train all their teachers in LEED building allowing them to integrate LEED concepts into both their theoretical and practical classes. This matched with their “Our House” Project in which they are building a LEED house with Habitat for Humanity Province of Quebec and community partners, has truly placed them at the forefront of LEED education. CVCEC has also just begun offering an extracurricular LEED course at the centre that will prepare students for their LEED associate exam, encouraging them to partake in a higher standard of building. This school with its incredible staff has paved the way for others, by being the first school to integrate LEED building into their carpentry program and give their students the skills needed to create a better tomorrow.

On a side note…Darren has truly been involved in student life at CVCEC! We appreciate all that he has done while attaining his DEP in Carpentry! All the best Darren as today is his last day!
