What a change!

Ok, imagine your first day of school in carpentry. Maybe you have already some experience under your belt, but, like most of the students, it might be one of your first opportunities to work with wood. Most of what you will do, you will be doing it for the first time. Then, imagine one year later, on your first day on a jobsite. You will be ready for the challenge!
As a teacher here at CVCEC, I’m always amazed how much self-confidence and aptitudes a student can acquire. We start the year teaching the basic skills like using a measuring tape (and dealing with the imperial system!). Some students are hesitant and afraid of making any error. Nevertheless, one year later, the same students are able to tackle a complex task like building a roof or stairs, and their first worries are long forgotten!
